Chair of Grower-Shipper Association

Dennis Donohue was installed as the new chair of the Grower-Shipper Association at the group's annual board meeting May 29, 2008 at the Pasadera Country Club. Mayor Donohue, who is also the president of Salinas-based grower European Vegetable Specialties, succeeds Felice Farms owner Kay Felice.

2008 Peace Builder Award

Dennis Donohue was one of the recipients of the Peace Builder award given by Salinas-based non-profit Partners for Peace April 10, 2008. Partners for Peace initiated the awards this year to recognize locals who are helping end violence in Salinas. More in this story by the Salinas Californian.

2007 Citizen of the Year Award

In March, 2007, the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce honored Dennis Donohue as Citizen of the Year for exemplary community service in 2006.

Specifically the Chamber recognized Dennis' work for Measure V: aiding the city during its fiscal emergency, helping save Salinas' threatened libraries, for the many city commissions he sits on, and for his long resume of service on community boards.

2005 President's Award from the California Library Association

This award was given to Dennis to recognize outstanding contributions, leadership and achievement in support of California libraries. Each year it is given to an individual who has given his or her time and talents to further the advancement of California Libraries.

2003 Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year Award

Dennis has been active in the Chamber for over 20 years, a member of the Chamber's Board since 2004, Marketing and Membership Director in 2005, and Chairman in 2006.
