Mayor Donohue will be intorducing Green Vehicles' Officers during the Salinas Rotary meeting on Tuesday, October 27th at noon, which will be followed by a press briefing at 1:30 pm at the National steinbeck Center, 1 Main Street, Salinas.
Green Vehicles, a technology development company and electric vehicle manufacturing business which produces three unique all electric powered vehicles, , has moved their assembly operations to a space within the Firestone Business Park facility. Green Vehicles is planning on employing up to fifteen (15) Salinas area persons during the next year, predictated on start-up determinants.
Mr. Ehab Youssef, founderand CEO of Green Vehicles, is a Salinas High school graduate and is highly pleased that he has the opportunity to return "home" with a unique business which will provide both local residents and local agriculture producers an alternative energy vehicle choice.
The opportunity to encourage an alternative energy vehicle company to consider locating in the Salinas Valley area is one of the energy meets economic opportunities identified in the Rocky Mountain Institutes Assessment of the Salinas Valley Alternative Energy Report.
Mayor Dennis Donohue has expressed, "Once again we see the importance of investing and planning before execution can be accomplished. Job creation in new businesses which focuses on new technologies will result in higher paying and better employment opportuities for all residents of the Salinas Valley."
