Salinas, CA - July 14, 2008 - As Mayor Dennis Donohue files papers for his re-election campaign today, 14 Salinas Citizens of the Year have announced their endorsement of his leadership.
The Citizens of the Year endorsing Mayor Donohue's re-election are:

"Dennis Donohue is doing an outstanding job in his efforts to resolve the problems that face our city," said attorney Myron "Doc" Etienne. "I don't think we could have a better person as our mayor."
The Citizen of the Year award is given by the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce. Mayor Donohue was the honoree for 2006, earning recognition for aiding the city during its fiscal emergency, for helping save Salinas' libraries, for the many city commissions he sits on, and for his long record of service on community boards.
Dennis Donohue was elected mayor in the November 7, 2006 general election, winning 70% of the vote on a platform of Peace, Prosperity and the Image of the city.
