From the Salinas Californian, Aug 10, 2008: Salinas Mayor Dennis Donohue is running unopposed for his second term in office.
Two City Council members are also running unopposed, leaving just one facing a challenger in the Nov. 4 election.
By the time the window to file for candidacy closed at 5 p.m. Friday, no one had submitted papers to take on Donohue, who was elected to his first two-year term in 2006.
"I have the best interest of the community at heart, and people appreciate that," Donohue said, "and I usually get good feedback from the community."
